Michelle Kott, chief of the Bethlehem Police Department, has made a career out of serving the City of Bethlehem. She recently decided to take this role one step further by volunteering her time as a New Bethany board member, where she helps to ensure hope and support are equitably available for her community.
Before becoming Bethlehem Police Department’s first female chief in 2020, she served on the police force for over 15 years. She first learned of New Bethany as a young patrol officer and has since seen our work as extremely impactful.
She feels drawn to New Bethany because of how important service is to her. Regardless of circumstances, anyone can come to our facilities for help and guidance, which is particularly important to Michelle.
“As our city continues to grow, I want to make sure that New Bethany grows with it so that it can continue its mission of helping those in need,” she said.
Michelle is a member of the LGBTQ+ community, which is another reason she feels an affinity towards our organization. Supporting organizations that give equal access to services for all is a priority in her philanthropic efforts.
On the board, Michelle plans to provide her expertise in all areas, lending a helping hand wherever necessary. She wants to help our organization continue to provide quality care and assistance to our clients.
In her free time, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family. She is also a massive Philly sports fan.
