Three new hires will help the organization increase its reach and programs.
New Bethany Ministries (NBM), a local nonprofit providing basic-need services, housing, and support that lift individuals out of poverty, recently appointed Genesis Tejada, tenant navigator, Bria Dews, housing advocate, and Sullay Hernandez, caretaker. The three new hires join New Bethany’s Housing Assistance office and Transitional Housing Program teams.
Tejada is responsible for processing housing assistance applications to prevent eviction and assisting in rental arrears. As a bilingual tenant navigator, the organization’s Housing Assistance office is able to impact more Spanish-speaking families throughout the community.
As a housing advocate, Dews, provides housing assistance application navigation and on-site guidance at three Bethlehem Area School District Community Schools. Her role is vital in bridging the gap between New Bethany’s Housing Assistance office services and local families in need at Donegan Elementary, Fountain Hill Elementary, and Broughal Middle Schools.
Hernandez serves as a caretaker in New Bethany’s Transitional Housing Program, making rounds through rooms, enforcing program rules, and ensuring residential needs are met. She brings valuable personal experience and understanding that will promote strong, impactful relationships with clients.

Our organization is continually growing to meet increased community needs,” said Veronne Demesyeux, Associate Executive Director. “Housing insecurity remains a significant problem in our region. With their aid, New Bethany will be able to further increase its impact in the Lehigh Valley.”
