New Bethany Ministries believes that all people should be treated with dignity and care regardless of circumstance. Aesculap, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of surgical instruments, medical devices, and sterilization container systems, values the vital connection with the Lehigh Valley and has been a dedicated partner of New Bethany Ministries for the last five years. The organization strives to be a good corporate citizen and a positive presence in local communities and the larger healthcare environment.
Every month, about four or five Aesculap staff volunteer in the Mollard Hospitality Center, preparing fresh meals for guests. Groups arrive every second Wednesday, and employees alternate each month, so anyone interested has an opportunity to volunteer. While in-person volunteering was suspended due to Covid-19, Aesculap is excited to return to the kitchen.
Employees also hold ongoing food drives that contribute to Choice Food Pantry. Boxes placed around the office encourage staff to donate nonperishable items whenever they can. While the Aesculap team was working from home during the pandemic, they dropped off food while picking up office supplies, mail and care bags.
“Aesculap sought to partner with an established organization where we could contribute not only financially, but also coordinate donations and volunteer time so employees could be involved. New Bethany was an easy choice,” reflected Chuck DiNardo, President of Aesculap. “The comprehensive programs offered by New Bethany Ministries are so valuable to the community, and we are inspired by their commitment to those they serve.”
Aesculap’s generosity goes beyond dedicated employee volunteer time and food drives. The organization regularly sponsors New Bethany Ministries’ signature events, such as Souper Day. In 2021, Aesculap donated $10,000 to the fundraising campaign – the highest corporate donor of the year!
