Lisa Myers brings her expertise in nonprofit accounting, grants and strategic financial planning.

New Bethany Inc., a local nonprofit dedicated to providing food access, housing and social services to those experiencing poverty, hunger and homelessness, announced the promotion of Lisa Myers to the organization’s finance director.

“Lisa has been instrumental in strengthening New Bethany’s financial operations since the start of the pandemic,” said John Marc Rittle, executive director of New Bethany. “Her leadership and financial expertise have helped ensure that every dollar entrusted to our organization is used effectively to serve our neighbors in need. This promotion recognizes not only her professional excellence, but also her commitment to the people and community that New Bethany supports every day.”

In her role, Myers oversees New Bethany’s financial health, strategy and compliance, ensuring funds align with the nonprofit’s mission. She is responsible for managing budgets, financial reporting, audits and cash flow, while advising leadership and the board.

Myers first joined New Bethany in May 2020 as a temporary grant administrator in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and advanced to a full-time role as finance assistant in Nov. 2021. She was promoted to controller after less than a year, and held that title until her promotion to finance director.

Before joining New Bethany, Myers worked at Dan Schantz Farm & Greenhouses LLC for 27 years, serving as a controller and operating partner. She also served as accounting bookkeeper and property manager at Triangle Lumber Co.

Since its founding in March 1985, New Bethany has provided more than 1.1 million meals, supported over 2,000 residents through its housing programs and received assistance from 12,000 volunteers, helping thousands of neighbors in need.
