Meet Isaiah Price, financial coordinator at New Bethany. He has been an integral part of our team for two years, expertly managing financial paperwork, rent payments, donations and grants to ensure efficient support for our clients.
Isaiah first discovered New Bethany during a period of personal hardship. He had lost his job and needed help paying his rent. His landlord introduced him to our organization, and he took advantage of our services soon after. Only a month later, he applied for a financial case coordinator position posted on Indeed. As an employee who has experienced both sides of our services, he finds it particularly rewarding to assist people with needs similar to those he had just a few years ago.
Isaiah started at New Bethany as a financial case coordinator in the housing assistance department, where he managed housing grants for rental assistance and audited case files. After a year in this role, he was promoted to financial coordinator in the finance department. He now handles maintaining the database, financial records, and electronic and physical filing systems. He performs account reconciliations and internal audits and coordinates organization invoices. Additionally, Isaiah plays a key role in processing donations and rent payments for our Single Room Occupancy program.
Before working at New Bethany, Isaiah held financial roles across multiple industries. He worked for several banks and as a credit and business coach at another nonprofit organization. In these roles, he learned about profit and loss statements, budgeting, and the importance of keeping accurate and detailed reports.
When reflecting on his two years at New Bethany, Isaiah recalls one powerful client story. He helped a housing advocate quickly ensure that their homeless, pregnant client could secure her new apartment before giving birth. The housing advocate worked directly with the client to process the application. Isaiah rushed to get the check processed and handed over to her new landlord. A few days after moving into her new home, the client had her baby!
“I was happy she could take her new baby to a safe place after leaving the hospital,” Isaiah said.
Outside of work, Isaiah is an artist. He takes passion in creating and learning new techniques like digital art, acrylic abstract painting, tattooing, and, most recently, photography. He is a Philly native and a proud Eagles fan. He enjoys watching movies and spending time with his son and daughter.
“I really do love the work I do at New Bethany,” Isaiah said. “I am grateful I was given the opportunity to work here and help people the way New Bethany helped me!”
